After enjoying our first two nights in Vancouver we headed towards the Rocky Mountains. Our first stop was in Kamloops for one night and now we enjoyed to beautiful late summer days in Banff. The clouds, cooler temperatures and rain are moving in already. On our way from Kamloops to Banff we had a short break in Salmon Arm that has a nice harbor where we discovered some wildlife: Ducks, ospreys and otters.
Later that day we entered the several National Parks in Canada and got a first impression about how many people are still traveling during this time of the year.
Banff is pretty crowded but leaving town early keeps the crowd away until later that day. We drove along the Bow Valley Parkway (HW 1A) and enjoyed a really beautiful day.
