I am a little behind writing but yesterday was our personal wolve day. We thought we were quite lucky to see one wolve north of Norris junction and south of South Swan Lake the first day we came into the park
Well, we thought it might be a little daring but to come back to the same place and when we saw the large crowd of people (and cars) we knew that there is still activity. I had the pleasure to talk to Hélène and Rene? from Holland and we got told that the wolves were last seen two hours ago and as we were a little tired from our day’s trip we decided to head back to Gardiner as suddenly the alpha male appeared on scene starting feeding on the dead elk. We got our equipment got some nice decent shots – at least what was possible from our position. Later the male howled and the pack answered from the woods. Time for some real goose bumps! The last time I felt so overwhelmed was at our whale watching trips in Australia and California.
We almost drove further along when the rest appeared and we got some nice shots. The pictures are in the gallery here: Yellowstone National Park
What a great day…
