We got up pretty early this morning as my jetlag finally woke me up around 4:30 AM. We decided to shoot the sunrise from the Signal Mountain Summit where we arrived after a 30 minutes drive 20 minutes prior to the sunrise. Unfortunately clouds came in and it started to rain a little and chances were likely that the glow of the Tetons will not happen this day. Nonetheless, we got a couple of nice decent pictures shown in our gallery.
We had a very good breakfast at the Signal Mountain Lodge and the drove to Jackson for getting gas, food and beverages. On our way back we stopped at various spots in the park and shot some nice landscape pictures the first time ever using manual focus and hyperfocal distance.
For the first time ever we saw a “living” moose – together with his calw:
And today’s highlight was a Grizzly bear (Ursus arctos horribilis) just before Oxbow Bend followed by a crowd of people.
As he approached us we had to move away but he was pretty fast and soon he was in the middle of the street – pretty scary. Later on he swam through the river and was not seen again.
