I forced Eva and myself to getup at 5:00 AM jump into the car and drove the 45 miles to the Hayden Valley to shot the sunrise at the famous Alum Creek. It paid well off to be early…
The temperatures significantly dropped from 34°F (1°C) in West Yellowstone to 19°F (-7.2°C) in the Hayden Valley but what we got was a beautiful sunrise that the ordinary tourist usually does not see. Stunning for the first time ever I have seen ice on the lens hood on my Canon 24-70mm 2.8 lens…
We were not alone freezing but everbody seemed to be amazed…
Some more stunning picture could be found in our online gallery here: GP-Photography Gallery.
Eva is currently taking a little nap and we will head back to the Yellowstone River in the late afternoon to get some closing pictures as we will be heading towards Oregon tomorrow.
