Time to catch up with some recent activities. Several days ago I had the opportunity to shoot half a day with Agnieszka from the Model Kartei at a very special place: The Villa Don Dominikus located at the Hesse/Bavaria border.
They offer several rooms with different themes and we had a pretty good time that day. Agnieszka did a perfect job at a lovely location and some of the pictures we took especially with available light and some additional help with equipment from California Sunbounce and/or in combination with powerful lighting equipment from Hensel turned out really great.
This one here uses only the light that comes from the window and really add some great light and shadows to that image. Please click on the image to see it completely as I still have to fix the theme.
This is another scene of the same room where I needed some additional bounced light to mimic the missing daylight in the dark spot. I really light the catch light in the eyes.
One of my favorite pictures is this one that we took later that day in a different room where the available light was the only source we used. I tried different settings with flash but none turned out the way I wanted. Sometimes less is more. I really light the depth of field with this almost wide open aperture of my Canon 85mm 1.2. and the 1Ds Mark III.
Agnieszka even handles a pro camera almost like a pro and she looks definitely better than I do *g.
Still plenty of pictures to work on and another – hopefully very special – shooting is on it’s way so stay tuned for more.
