30 years have past since Germany united again. I can still remember the wall that separated us. Since then many things changed: I started to get back into photography as a hobby after I quit motorcycle racing. A passion for nightscapes and landscape photography developed and since we did not attend the photo festival Horizonte in Zingst this year we decided to travel in autumn – so to speak late autumn – up north and east. Our first stop after a long and rainy drive was the Westhavelland Nature Park. It is known for a very low light pollution. The weather forecast was slightly optimistic and we were lucky to capture a few images of the Milky Way.
After a good night sleep we had a lovely 6 miles walk with beautiful weather in a woodland area. Though very late in the season we still found some beautiful coloured trees.
Tomorrow we will take the scenic ride to the Baltic Sea, leaving the highway behind us and take the smaller roads. Time does not matter that much – it is all about the journey.
