I spent almost the complete last weekend around the photostudio of Diana Wagner together with Martin Krolop and Marc Gerst from Krolop-Gerst. The main theme of their workshop was fashion, portrait and glamour photography but I would simply call it as a reall fun weekend.
I learned plenty of new stuff about light, light setup and how to work with professional models. There are plenty of tutorials in their blog. I would recommend to take a look there as well: Krolop-Gerst Blog.
We had plenty of models and they did an excellent job and are tough girls. Just take a look at some of the pictures below and you will know what I mean.
Our group started with Silvi from Frankfurt and we used very different light setups and locations.
We used a spray booth and two Elinchrom flashes to create this contrary look
As the weather was perfect we decided to perform outdoor portraits with equipment from California Sunbounce.
One of the models that I worked most was Fini. She is able to change roles and styles pretty quickly and she is really a fun model working with.
Sunday’s highlight certainly was the shooting with the welder on the factory floor. This photo may look pretty simple but we developed the light setting in more than one hour. We had a total of 4 flashes and the intense light of the welder. The following picture was taken with the Canon 1Ds Mark III with a 24-70mm 2.8 L lens mounted on a tripod with ISO50, f22 and 0.4 seconds exposure time.
Here is another beauty portrait of Fini:
Another model was Natalie but we only had one session on late Sunday afternoon but it was another great 5 minute shoot with available light and products from California Sunbounce. The more we shoot with their stuff, the more we like it. Well manufactured, lightweight and they bounce the light very well.
Here is another shot from this session:
And this is one of the making of pictures that should not be missed in this post.
OK. Let’s jump back in time. Saturday after sunset we had two more highlights – in fact the whole workshop was filled with highlights.
Just look at the pictures and down below are some of the making of pictures as well.
Giannina – taking a cold shower on a chilly night in Speyer…
..followed by Fini
Here are the making of pictures (as promised):
That’s all for now – I am working on some of the pictures and will put them in our gallery later on.
