What a beautiful and wonderful day today in Northern Illinois. 72° Fahrenheit (22° C) early November. After long working hours with no daylight I used the weekend to spend as much time outside as possible.
This picture was taken at a small town close to the Illinois/Wisconsin border called Antioch and had me rest for several minutes watching the colors, the calm water and the fresh air.
The immature swans thought the same and were taking a break there as well. It was just a quiet, lovely and great day to spend outdoors.
Another nice place I visited the first time ever was the Volo Bog and that mainly due to the fact the the Chain O’Lakes State Park is closed for hunting at this time. Nonetheless, as I was able to be there relatively early I had the chance to watch the sandhill cranes flying in. I counted appr. 25 individuals and the next day at the same place I have only seen 4 of them. Sometimes you are lucky sometimes you are not.
I do have several more pictures to be added to our gallery soon. So please be patient.
