Last night we decided despite the fact of rain/snow showers and a cloud covered city of Tromso to take the chances to drive from Tromso towards Oldervik to some open skies – thanks to Frank Meisner for the recommendation.
Shortly before Snarby the police stopped us for an alcohol test and Eva spotted something in the sky – a shy Aurora Borealis coming through the clouds, the police officers were not quite impressed but we were happy as we did not expect to see anything. The weather forecast is still not very promising and with winter hitting central Europe we still “suffer” from temperatures above freezing point, crazy slippery and icy roads that draw a lot of attention for me to drive and Eva is the only spotting guide in our car.
Please send some cold weather, clear skies and highly active auroras.
